President-Elect: Michelle Sieben

Michelle has been a past vice president for MTAM and is now our current President-Elect.

Michelle collects many quotes that resonate with her at different times, but one that she always tries to keep in mind is, “Success is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it.” (Maya Angelou)

January 2016 Michelle started a new job as music therapist at Augustana Care Health and Rehabilitation Center of Apple Valley.

In September of 2014, Michelle fell in love with Taiko, a type of modern Japanese Drumming (literally translates to “big drum”), when she started taking classes from St. Kate’s. This past summer she transitioned into classes through Mu Performing Arts/Mu Daiko in Minneapolis. Her favorite drum is the Odaiko, and she is also learning Fue/Shinobue (Japanese flute), which is used in many Taiko pieces.

In addition, Michelle loves reading and learning about different types of religion/spirituality/theology. She finds it fascinating to explore different facets of different faith traditions and to explore what people believe in and why and how those beliefs influence the way they live their lives.

Michelle has recently been enjoying reading applications and answering questions for the excellent internship students applying for our MTAM Terrie McCoss Scholarship. She is excited to get to know these newcomers to the profession here in Minnesota.
